APGS 2022 – The 1O1 On Sustainability

The big buzz word bandied around by a whole slew of people these days has to do with SUSTAINABILITY.

Sadly, most of the talk is academic and sometimes outrageously ridiculous! That said, there is a need to bring about a wide awareness of awareness and understanding of what sustainability means to the golf club industry.

Rather than delve into a lot of technical speak, the 2022 Asia Pacific Golf Summit (APGS 2022) has decided to come up with a simple to understand palette of what SUSTAINABILITY means and how golf clubs can engage and adopt programmes to grow their involvement and stake in this movement.

To get that done, APGS 2022 has tapped into the knowledge base of one man who has received global industry recognition for his work in promoting sustainability. He is widely regarded as a hands-on expert and that man is Andrew Johnston, General Manager, Director of Agronomy and Resident Golf Course Designer at Singapore’s award winning Sentosa Golf Club to get the job done.

Johnston, voted the ‘Most Innovative People in Golf’, will talk on this topic at APGS 2022 which will be staged at the multi-billion-dollar Hoiana Resort & Golf in the UN Heritage city of Hoi An, Vietnam on November 1 – 3.

Johnston has been able to create five-star conditioning with an environmentally sustainable platform at Sentosa, and a number of innovative and forward-thinking initiatives implemented have helped reduce the Club’s overall carbon footprint.

Many of these initiatives are now being mirrored by golf clubs around the world, as the industry looks to future proof the sport for generations to come.

Come and listen to a global expert on sustainability only at APGS 2022.
